A statue of “Oman-no-kata” /The Hagoromo Shiraito Fall (Hagoromo Shiraito no Taki)
The fall is known for the story that “Oman-no-kata”, a concubine of Ieyasu TOKUGAWA, stood under the waterfall as an ascetic training to purify the spirits, in order to end the prohibition that women entered to Mt. Shichimen.
The fall is located in edge of the Hagoromo Bridge, near the starting point for a climb on Omotesando (official approach) of Mt. Shichimen

Otaki Benten-dou
This fall is one of a pair and it is called “Otaki”(which means a greater waterfall of two, and the other is called “Shiraito no Taki”(Me-daki), a smaller waterfall). Many practitioners have been visiting here as a place for ascetic practice and training.

This is a lodging in the temple located at the landmark number 2 out of 50 of Mt. Shichimen. You can see a stick to carry a Kago (a palanquin for carrying people), that was used when “Oman-no-kata” entered the mountain.

Bokusui Wakayama Kahi (monuments inscribed with poems)
There are three Bokusui Wakayama’s monuments inscribed with his poems in front of Edoya Ryokan, below Osakaya, and at the uppermost part of Akasawa stone paving. When Bokusui climbed up Mt. Shichimen with his friends in 1924, he stayed over at Akasawa. He composed 31 poems during this trip. (There is actually one more monument at the starting point for a climb on Omotesando (official approach) of Mt. Shichimen)
